Hey guys jut looking for some advice.
I am interested in getting the new Madone slr and according to treks size guide I am a size 60cm as I am 188cm. I have done the math and I would fit a 58cm either, even with my saddle height I still just about fall under the max seat height.
To match up with my current bikes setup on a 58cm I’d need about 30mm worth of spacers under stem and only 5mm under stem on size 60cm.
Which would you guys go for? Is 30mm worth of spacers gonna look rubbish under stem? Or would it look better than the big headtube on the size 60cm?
Let me know what you think thanks.

It's not only stack (height), what length stem would you use on 58 and 60?

How long saddle to bar drop do you have?
Saddle nose to centrum on top of shifters?
Frames reach on 60 is spot on for you.
58 has a stack of 58.1cm and 60 has 60.1cm.
What reach does your current handlebar have and what reach does Madone handlebar have?
Reach is stem lenght + handlebar reach = full reach.
But you also have to look at the stem angle. Madone seems to have a lower stem than typical - 6 stems.
This also lowers the front end.
Technically size 60 seems better because reach of frame is like your current frame.
Also require 20mm less spacers.
But you mentioned this, 30mm vs 5mm. I would easily look at size 60.
Because, as mentioned, the stem on Madone is low, so you may have to compensate with spacers anyway.

I asked someone who until recently was a Trek shop employee and rides a Madone themselves. He said go with the 60.

Keep in mind, the Trek geo chart max seat height is to the rails.
