Hi,
I was looking for simple/cheap aluminium frame,
and stumbled across this bike brand: "Quantec",
and this frame:
http://www.quantec-bikes.de/page/road/race_slr_evo.html
which looks nice and fairly modern.
But, I can't find any reviews from last years,
very few mentions and google results.
Anybody has information about this brand, and frame ?
Thanks for any help.
JD.

Sorry I can't help you with this brand.

Just had a thought though. How about a used frame of a more known brand?

You will have better resell value and maybe better riding characteristics.

Quantec has flown under the radar for a number of years. They used to make no-frills, solidly constructed aluminum frames and it seems they are still in the biz.
There are a number of options out there though that may have a higher profile and more modern design input including alu options from Bowman, Kinesis and Canyon. Their framesets can be snagged for very affordable prices and built up with your choice of group and parts, upgradable later.

Thanks for the input, this is another option I consider.

Indeed it looks like their website is still active, but only few dealers sell in last sizes, so I think maybe it's just old leftover stock.
The good side of this situation is, that almost always on sale with good prices.
I was looking at the other brands you've mentioned, indeed some nice cheap options out there.
Thanks for your help !

The brand name makes me think of Dieter Thomas Kuhn's "Sag Mir Quando, sag Mir wann".
