New Cervélo Tomorrow? (1st Oct launch)
Moderator: robbosmans
That's not very light...
none of them are really.... the discs.. the integration... deep clinchers.
so 7.5ish is semi-respectable, all things considered.

Deep clinchers can be made light.
They should be lighter too. I'd give it 1 or 2 more design spins for companies to made disc specific molds that don't need extra plys for the brake track on the rim anymore.
Combine that with tune hubs. Tune thru axles.
lighter wheelsets should negate the disc brakes.

Depends whether you will happen to have a creaky one If yes, it is highly unlikely you'll save anything there.TiCass wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 8:03 pmI believe Cervelo has put a bb that looks like that as standard, so quite heavy.

My R5D started creaking like hell (SRAM PF30). Will put Hambini BB in, which weighs 123g, but at least you can be confident, if creaking persists, it wouldn't be from the BB area.
Minimum bike categories required in the stable:
Aero bike | GC bike | GC rim bike | Climbing bike | Climbing rim bike | Classics bike | Gravel bike | TT bike | Indoors bike
Aero bike | GC bike | GC rim bike | Climbing bike | Climbing rim bike | Classics bike | Gravel bike | TT bike | Indoors bike
I'd swap it out just to get a better BB anyway. It's nice that they've goe wih a thread together version, but just as with the headset they've gone with a super cheap one. They might as well drop the price by £30 and not ship it with any bearings at allmrlobber wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 8:20 amDepends whether you will happen to have a creaky one If yes, it is highly unlikely you'll save anything there.TiCass wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 8:03 pmI believe Cervelo has put a bb that looks like that as standard, so quite heavy.

I don't know what is the exact BB model Cervelo uses in the S5, but i doubt they went for the lightest creak free option.mrlobber wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 8:20 amDepends whether you will happen to have a creaky one If yes, it is highly unlikely you'll save anything there.TiCass wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 8:03 pmI believe Cervelo has put a bb that looks like that as standard, so quite heavy.

If i recall correctly, last year it was spec with a BBB one, but this year it seems they have have for something called Cervelo BBright Connect 24x90. Not sure if its supposed to be the same one.VTR1000SP2 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 1:21 pmhttps://bbbcycling.com/en_en/parts/driv ... m-bracketsTiCass wrote:

I was talking about the PF BBright, which is used on SRAM (30mm axle) equipped Cervelos.TiCass wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 1:13 pmI don't know what is the exact BB model Cervelo uses in the S5, but i doubt they went for the lightest creak free option.

I haven’t pulled the crank off one to confirm but I suspect it is a BBB considering Pon owns both Cervélo and BBB.TiCass wrote:If i recall correctly, last year it was spec with a BBB one, but this year it seems they have have for something called Cervelo BBright Connect 24x90. So prices dropped a bit more, now I am seriously considering those S5(besides Nitrogen Pro frame which holds at £1.8k):

I´m gonna rebuild the frame on DA 9150 with Campagnolo Bora wheels and sell the rest. Which one of that Cervelos above seems to be a better deal?

I'd go with this and get a better handlebar in addition to the changes you're already making
Focus Izalco Max - 4.84kg without pedals
Cervélo Áspero - 8.28kg
Trek Madone SLR Rim - 7.73kg
Standert Triebwerk Disc - 8.47kg

Agree, but Dura Ace version already have some carbon aero handlebar, I think.
But I have no idea for how much could I sell ENVE SES 3.4 Clincher wheelset...
EDIT: Could I install Vision Metron 5D integrated handlebar on S5 without problems? Not sure if the spacers will fit.
