Hi all,

I'm building up a new bike (out of second hand parts mostly) but now having to decide which groupset to use. This will be a rim brake Colnago on a budget.

I have got myself a set of Rotor Aldhu crankset already, but trying to think if i can should go cheap and get the 11speed Centaur or fork up abit more and get the 2018 Potenza HO. I will be using a centaur 11-29 with rotor round (non-Q) 52/36 and Record chain, so realistically we are talking only about shifters, front mech and rear mech.

in the UK the shifters are only 10GBP difference; same as front mech. rear mech is more than doubled tho. Since Potenza doesnt get any carbon anyway, may be im better off with Centaur?

My experience is mostly with Shimano. I have R9000, R8000, 6800, 5800 and various mix and match, i always found rear mech and front mech don't make too much difference, hence spend the money on shifters and cabling are better bang for bucks. But i dont think i can do the same with Campag lower end groupset. so is it a marked difference going Potenza? Thanks.
Some say pour 10ml water out of your bottle to save that last bit of the weight. Sorry, i go one step further, i tend to the rider off my bikes.
n+1...14 last time i checked, but i lost count

With an 11s chain it would be fine.
