I just read a very positive review on BikeRadar about a newer direct to consumer brand based out of Taiwan, Dare. The reviewed bike was 6.8kg at a size 58, which is pretty impressive. With their stock mechanical Dura-Ace configuration, they quote a size 54 coming in at 6.6kg at $5489 USD.

Looking at the framesets, it doesn't seem like just an open-mold bike, at least I haven't seen their "comfort channel" on any of the generic Chinese bikes. BikeRadar talks about a noisy seatpost -- I could use with a different clamping system. It's also doesn't look like a proprietary seatpost, so maybe that can be easily replaced. The lightweight model also is on the UCI list.

Anyone have any other information or opinions?

I'm trying to work out where you are saving money? I'n not saying that the bikes aren't good. But where are you saving any coin? Giant bikes would be as cheap or cheaper at that price & at least you would have confidence in the warranty. Alternatively, buy frame and parts yourself and save heaps.
