I encourage everyone to listen to the recent CyclingTips podcast. The relevant part is the final third of the episode. The tariffs are very, very bad and the US isn’t in a position to push China around in the global economy. Punishing China won’t bring manufacturing back to a post-industrial US...that’s akin to coal miners being hopeful for “clean coal” jobs to start appearing. It’s a fool’s errand. The bike industry is going to be hit particularly hard.

In the meantime, big corps try to maintain their gross margins and net profits by making life worse downstream (bike shops, consumers.)
why would you want to foist a podcast, with an obvious lefty/commie-political agenda, into a site that is decidedly NON-POLITICAL?
Uh, being anti-tariff is a decidedly capitalist position.

Not sure how you get “commie” from that.

And, there are plenty of anti-Trump, right leaning, pro-capitalism people out there.

This thread is being locked. If we want to discuss economic theory and the impact on bicycle prices in the US and abroad without all the politics then... No, that's not going to happen.
