I get the impression this is a proper build as in true to WW (where we are) style, weights for all components will be listed.

OP, did you get that frame from Piermont?

I wouldn’t say so much better but here’s a summary.

With each aero frame I’ve owned, my performance has improved so the expectation when building the Izalco was that I would get a faster bike for the hills only but performance on the flats would suffer. After a few hundred kilometres, I’ve noticed my avg speed hasn’t suffered but I’m more comfortable. The rate at which this bike accelerates due to its low weight is quite addictive. The Focus also changes direction with less effort than the S3.

It’s lighter, stiffer, and no slower.

love it. I also have the Izalco Max frame from Piermont. best deal around for such a light and responsive frame. mine was built with Etap came up to mid 14. not the lightest but light enough.

Seriously- Piedmont must have the remaining inventory given that Focus has changed the frame design for 2019. Awesome prices for these frames.

I just built up a Piedmont Focus Izalco Max Di2 frameset with SRAM etap. My small frame came in at 701g w/hanger only. With a bit of choice parts- total bike with AL clinchers/pedals came in at 12.45lbs/5.65kg, and that was without any crazy compromises. The bike is that good- it sent my Cannondale Supersix to ebay. :)

It’s actually Piermont and you’ll find the framesets on eBay.

My bad- sorry about that. Do a search for "piermontbike" as the seller on the bay.

Ok, found him. Thanks guys.

Looks like he only has complete bikes in my size and config. (54cm, rim brake, mech group)

I wonder how much an Izalco “Race” frame weighs. Something tells me it weighs more than an Izalco Max.
