Hex, I like the Tubolito better than the Vredestein latex. They have a good feel although the difference is subtle and they are much lighter. I also think they are more durable.
Wow. I just checked the price and it's $35 each on Fairwheelbikes. I usually buy ten tubes at a time. So ten tubes = $350. Ouch! For some reason the road version is out of stock on Fairwheelbikes.

Where are you guys buying the Turbolito and Vredestein latex tubes from? Where's the best deal for them?

Thanks.
Best deal on Vreds i found is through starbike for the eu.
Sometimes mantel has better pricing if you buy in bulk.
Probikekit is worth checking too

Yeah... Not cheap. I mean, you can get 4 latex tubes for the price of one of the tubolitos

yes the Tubolito puncture protection is legit. The rolling resistance is better and I think they will be similar to my eclipse tubes in that they last a long time and also not dry out like latex. I also will repair my Tubolitos the same way I repair my eclipses.

Any data on that? Haven't seen any of it yet.

In my case, however, I'm more interested in feel. If smooth and soft on the road, I mmay make the jump

When you mention the rolling resistance, you mean the feel of less effort to push your bike faster or the softness of them on the road?

Hex, The slippery and elastic nature of the tube can move against the tire with less resistance and that equals better rolling resistance, again the feel is very subtle on the road. I believe in these tubes but everyone needs buy what they feel is best for them. Also, since these haven't been used long term some might want to wait longer to see what actual users have to say with longer use.

Tubolito's site has some RR graphs. Based on the graphs the RR is about the same as a light butyl tube, which is higher than a latex tube. The graph also shows data for a model called S-Tubo-Road which is supposed to be an ultralight Tubolito designed only as a spare tube. However I don't see this tube being offered for sale.

My gripes about Tubolito are they claiming a bit less than actual weights and even the valve is orange-painted...

My mistake, I ride a lot. I have about 570 miles on the Tubolito, around 700 kilometers.
