The weight is exactly the same (980GR.)…!?Roadrocket wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 1:05 pmFinally new 2019 Aeroad released: https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/road/aeroad/
As expected, not many upgrades. SL and SLX versions, some colour and components changes... Just one surprise for me, CF SLX frame now weighs 10g more. CF SL frame weights not published yet.

Ok, it's just a new frame colour (blue), but it does look lovely!

I´ve read that in my language and as you can see in description it is 990g: https://www.canyon.com/cs-sk/road/aeroa ... lx-el.html Probably just a howler, no doubt frame is all the same. I am more interested about CF SL data.calpartz wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 1:33 pmThe weight is exactly the same (980GR.)…!?Roadrocket wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 1:05 pmFinally new 2019 Aeroad released: https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/road/aeroad/

IMO the cherry pepper 2018 colour looks better than new black-blue color blend...
BTW Ultimate released just after Aeroad: https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/road/ultimate/
In German it is 1030 GR: https://www.canyon.com/road/aeroad/2019 ... 0-di2.htmlRoadrocket wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 2:02 pmI´ve read that in my language and as you can see in description it is 990g: https://www.canyon.com/cs-sk/road/aeroa ... lx-el.html Probably just a howler, no doubt frame is all the same. I found CF SL frame weight on German site. Should be 1020g in M size, so not bad.
Boring updates.. Colours aren't so nice (Grey is boring and the Movistar colourway may not appeal to many)
The SL versions are not drastically cheaper than their now-obsoleted SLX counterparts, and they've left the "new" SLX only on top end bikes (which makes a lot of sense from a commercial standpoint on their side, but it was one of the good thing for the end consumer that Canyod did differently..)

I whole-heartedly agree, the CF SLX 8.0 Di2 was made an even better deal by being on 10% discount for licensed racers. Now, I suppose you only get the SL frame in that deal.robeambro wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 3:06 pmBoring updates.. The moviestar color fade looks cheesy imo, and is hard to match with any kit.
Also, price increases across the range.
I have to agree. I think the colours are ok but nothing striking. Same goes for the Ultimate. The Movistar one is nice but doesn't appeal to me personally. The silver one looks nice but is only offered in the SL model and looks better on the Ultimate. Hopefully Aeroad CF SLX 8.0 will be part of the licensed racers discount.
I have a set of ENVE SES 4.5 Clinchers but can't make up my mind if I should keep them or not. Aeroad CF SLX 8.0 Di2 Discs was an alternative but now I don't know. Bit if a dissapointment. Tempted to buy the Ultimate CF Evo electronic frameset as it is and build up with SRAM eTap + SES 4.5. Decisions decisions

The new aeroad uses the H36 cockpit, where as the old one uses H11. Don't know the difference, but I'm happy that I ordered the cherry red framset a month ago, the faded blue is not me.

Hmm. Previously the lower grade CF SL bikes/frames came with the same fork as the higher grade CF SLX. Not so from 2019 onwards. Looking at the Ultimate/Endurace, the OneOneFour SLX Disc fork is claimed to be 325 g while the new OneOneFour SL Disc is 390 g.
The claimed weight difference between the Aeroad CF SLX and CF SL grade of framesets is much smaller than for the Ultimate and Endurace. I wonder if that means there are other compromises, such as noticable differences in stiffness?
Despite the lower grade fork the Ultimate CF SL Disc frameset has gotten a lot more expensive. At least the weight is offset by a lighter cockpit, as most Ultimates now ship with a new CP10 AeroCockpit at claimed weight 320 g (previously with H36 AeroCockpit at 390 g).
Also noticed there is a new Ultimate CF SL Rim frameset using the same molds as the current gen SLX (rather than the 2013-2015 SLX moulds in use previously).

Would have been nice to see some more eTap groupsets. Not sure why, but on US site, the SLX frameset is showing us as $7.5K. Odd. Agreed, not much to be excited about here, especially since last year's SLXs can be had for cheaper than the new SL if your size is available.
The Aeroad SL does look nice in silver.
