You need the 7mmx9mm saddle rail clamps for the carbon railed specialized saddles. The Allez comes stock with the 7mm round rail clamps. Depending on how hard you tightened the saddle rail clamp down you may have cracked the carbon saddle rails and it may not be fully seated in the clamp. Both of which would be bad.

It wasn’t a question of torque, it’s the question of an oval rail fitting in the round form of the stock 7mm saddle clamp and the associated stresses created by it.

I was stating I tq'd to spec because you asked if about how much I tightened the clamp.SpecializedColnago wrote:It wasn’t a question of torque, it’s the question of an oval rail fitting in the round form of the stock 7mm saddle clamp and the associated stresses created by it.

^^ I don't think it'll be that much, probably high 7's or low 8's.

Next thing I'd like to do is go 11spd. Just dont know if I want Sram force 1x, keep shimano and find dura ace 9100 crankset/Dr's or go with the whole new 105 or ultegra group.
