Colnago C64 budget build?
Moderator: robbosmans
Hello,
New member on here (and new to Colnago) looking to build up a C64.
Question, what would a low budget build be and what would be the components to pick?
I can see from various sources a C64 disc can be had for c£3.5k
or there are still a few C60 rim brake options for c£2.6k
Thanks

Basically it's a question of how much bling you can afford vs getting your head around the fact that functionally, you won't be missing out on much.
Start with:
Shimano r7000 groupset, deda zero 100 finishing kit, zonda wheels and then keep upgrading till you run out of money!

C64 frame, Ultegra 8000 mechanical ($650) , Campagnolo Shamal Mille C17 or Fulcrum version of these wheels ($900).
Bianchi Oltre XR4, De Rosa SK Pininfarina, Trek Madone SLR, Giant TCR Advanced SL, Cervelo R5 Disk, Giant Revolt

May I ask the source for the Colnago C64 frameset at £3.5k as I too am UK based and cannot find it under £4.5k for disc or £4k for rim.
See the following thread for some tips

Basically Lordgun Bicycles, Cicili Corsa have some decent prices.
Also Cicli Mattio, however they seem to have ended the Colnago dealership and are just selling out few color and size combinations.

IMHO a Colnago C60 (rim brakes) on sale is a much wiser choice. It is an amazing frame already and you don't need disc brakes (not even pros need them).
