THM Clavicula se

I wanted to pick up a used clavicula se and then throw some bbinfinite bearings in there. Is this all that is needed to have a used crankset become new again? I would like the long-term reliability of bbinifinte or similar on my crank.

I am very new to cycling and looking at ways to shave some weight on my WW build. This bike will be ridden pretty much everyday.

I have dura ace 9000 mechanical and want to get 9070 shifters for my 9000. I am seeing 9070 Di2 a lot. Does the 9070 come in mechanical?

They certainly do, they are DA9000........... what you have already. 9000=mechanical, 9070=electric..........

you are talking about the BB not the cranks.. cranks are 30mm so keep that in mind. Personally I would just use the THM BB for your frame and clean often and you will need the BB tool if you get the THM BB.

it's the axle diameter... which is 30.. versus say Shimano which is 24.

The crank spindle (axle) on the SE is part of the monocoque carbon construction.
But it includes a little thin tapered sleeve for the left side, that fits into the left side BB bearing.
Why they made it that way (tapered carbon), and not 30mm all along the spindle shaft, is beyond me.

Actually just about any brand of 30mm ID bottom bracket will work, so long as the design designation fits your specific frame.
In addition to THM, there are Rotor and other BBs. Depending on the BB style, the bearings themselves may or may not be replaceable. For example, one of my bikes is PF4130 (otherwise designated BB86), and the bearing and cup are one and the same, so when that style wears out, it gets binned. But other styles may allow you to press out the old
bearings from the holder cups and press in new ones.

Getting it out from the other side was problamatic; it just pushed the bearing out. I got a new THM BB30, pushed the spindle very carefully, and it happened again. So I pressed the bearing back in, came up with a little contraption to hold the bearing in place, and pushed the spindle out...

I guess, THM recognized this, and simply made the end of the shaft a little smaller...

sounds like this might be more of a hassle then it is worth.

i have both the straight through 30mm spindle and the SE with taper spindle. no problems with either in removing or installing.

I have a classic and a SE. The classic is a bit of a PITA to remove and install, but I've gotten used to it. I use the freezer trick before installing and it goes much easier.

The SE has been trouble-free and flawless since I got it (and figured out the proper spacing). Easy in, easy out.
