Not a fair comparison I know, but my first bike is a Specialized Diverge DSW Elite, basically weighs over 10kg.
Tiagra 10 speed
11-32 cassette
48/32 Praxis Alba crankset
Tektro Spyre disc brakes
Axis Elite wheels ... elite-dsw/

I actually haven't even touch it since I got my C60, I kept saying I'll use it IF i go out riding in the rain, always ended up on Zwift or sofa

What could I do to reduce the weight and/or improve ride quality?

If you want improved braking/shifting I'd suggest upgrading the cables to proper ones. Doesn't break the bank and improves your ride quality. Another option is going with good rolling tires which is relatively cheap as well. Then if you want to spend a bit more look out for some new wheels.

Good cables can make cable discs almost as nice as hydro.
Wheels and Tyres next. I'm sure those tyres are at least 400g each
Carbon seatpost maybe (small difference for ride quality and weight)

Only things I've swapped out is saddle to Fizik Antares and the tires to a Conti 4 Season 28mm.
The front brake in particular is not very good even in dry, I'll have to readjust it and pretty sure the rotor is a tiny tiny bit warped. Wheels are not completely trued, but thats expected from OEM factory
