I don't notice any difference in speed on lighter vs more heavy bike.
Acceleration clear win to light bike.
Nervous, nimble goes to light bike.
Vibrations, feedback is boosted crazy on light bike.
Light bike feels faster.
At first switch A/B heavy bike feel like a tractor.
Also, more smooth.
Bikes:

Ax Lightness Vial EVO Race (2019.01.03)
Open *UP* (2016.04.14)
Paduano Racing Fidia (kind of shelved)

Ex bike; Vial EVO D, Vial EVO Ultra, Scott Foil, Paduano ti bike.

Awesome isn’t it. I swear I’ve heard that before, being said with all seriousness :P

Well to kick this off, my Colnago C64 is 5.74kg. Am sure others will have lighter bikes.

Beautiful!
how on earth did you get it down to 5.7kg?
My C60 is 7.5kg....I guess your eTap helps alot right?

eTap is heavier than Red, but I’d imagine the Lightweights and small C64 frame size helps

Thm kit, C59 saddle, it all added/subtracted up. I just wanted a light bike that was an everyday rider. So not too light.

Remember to check out the hillclimb scene too. When you boil it down to a bike that only needs to do one job, you tend to get slightly more bonkers results. Someone like the author of this article may be worth a shout.

you know, one can drop an additional 150 grams or so by donating one kidney. And there is a societal benefit to that as well!

You should at examine the rider to bike weight ratio. 120kg rider on 5kg bike is more impressive than 50kg rider on 4kg bike.

My lightest is the purple weenie at just under 6kg now. It cheap though using a eBay alloy frame and dressed in eBay finds. It's rides fine and wholley in practical given the cirrus ultra pedals. You can clip eventually but not unclip when you want to without lots of practice which I'm not willing to do as I don't want to fall off.
