Izalco Max Rim Brake
Pacenti Forza
Conti GP 4kiis - 23mm

actual width of tire on rim = 26mm

5mm clearance on either side of chainstay

had a regular belgium C2 with 25mm GP4k and worked fine. i don't recall the actual width though

I’ve got a 58cm Izalco Disc and 28mm tyres on 17mm internal width rims is not a problem.
Looking at buying some 21mm internal width rim wheels to run 25/28mm tyres and wondering if they’ll fit?
I've got 28c Specialized S Works 2bliss on 21mm internal Light Bicycle rims on my izalco max disc. They measure just over 29mm and I would not go any wider than that.

I've also tried 25c GP4000s and Michelin Power competition on these rims. Both measured 28mm exactly and fitted fine.

28c GP4000s on a 20mm Roval rim measured 31mm and were too wide, rubbing on the front fork and rear stays.

Hope that helps
25mm GP4000s II mounted on 21mm internal width (28mm external?) LB rims are only 28mm wide? I have seen the same tires on HED Belgium plus (20.5mm internal width, 24.5mm external width) measured at 28mm wide. So it seems only the internal width of the rim matters when it comes to actual mounted tire width (and height)?

I'm also considering getting a pair of LB rims but am not sure about the rear clearance after tires mounted.

Hi, yes those LB rims are 28mm wide externally.

It is my understanding that only the internal width of the rim affects tyre shape and size.

Good to know. Maybe I should even consider these 21mm/28mm LB rims then, if they can stay within 28mm actual inflated width. Btw, what is psi you have for the tires?

I'm 68kg so ran the 25s at 80psi and currently got the 28s at 70psi.

At 68kg I’d say 70psi in 28’s is a bit much, I only run 65psi in mine at 90kg.

They're fairly narrow 28s (29mm measured) but yes I plan to experiment lower. Certainly don't feel the need to go higher, especially as they're tubeless too.
