I was at Eurobike from Sun-Tues this year.

What always surprises people is that a lot of the big names aren't present, Trek, Canyon*, Spec, Cannondale, Pinarello, Cervelo etc no longer attend but there are a lot of massive stands from companies you have never heard for. There was a massive amount of e-Bike stuff as usual along with some interesting indoor riding bits and pieces.

I am mainly there for meetings as I do contract embedded development work in the connected sports technology (BLE and ANT+) sector as a side-line.

Having said that I did do a ride on a Strada Due and nearly took myself out doing wheelie on an e-MTB!

Also enjoyed some Wahoo beer at their drinks party

Just because companies don't have a stand it doesn't mean they aren't present. A lot of meetings go on between distributors and buyers, it really is a good place to do business as it is a point of convergence for many in the industry. I spoke to guys I have done work for over the past year but had never actually met in person until now!

Eurobike is changing dates again next year to slightly later, end of July 2019. The previous Eurobike date of end of August was way too late as most deals have been done by then and product announcements made. I don't think that Sea Otter Europe will have a serious impact, most in the industry don't see it as a serious show. The big names in the industry are moving away from shows anyway towards bespoke launch events which they have more control over. Why pay 300k euro for a stand at a show when you can fly in journalists to some cool location in the Alps to test out your new product in a controlled environment.

SRM stuff was veru nice at the show, they also had a pair of Exakt pedals on a Wattbike Atom for testing at their stand.

Miche have a SRM crank as well. Everyone's doing one. for me it was very useful exhibiting. I met people I would never have done normally including a CRC product manger. those people are very hard to hold of and I have his card. I have been trying to find a buyer for years.

Also there is a proper polymer spoke I found there (not berd, this looks properly made not some heath robinson affair). This is something i want to test and get a hub for it made for it.

300k euro. I thought the 2k euro I spent was enough including everything. We had 4 people on our stand too.

I think eurobike is better because the big companies are not there. there is more to the bike world than Trek e.t.c. Some of the neat inovations comes from startups.

Were where you located, you spent 2k euro on a stand, including staff costs and transport? Really - must have been an interesting stand.

Who said we paid for staff. If your canny you can do it for not alot. I used my camper. My coexhibter stayed in a tent. 3x3m space was less than 1000 euros. I am counting my costs only excluding all the wine I bought on the way home.

Then again mine and my wife's wedding cost £6k including a weeks honey moon in NY. This was when the average spent was 3 times as much. We had a 7 piece jazz band because my wife knows a musician who put the band together, we had a magician, lovely food and a good time. If you think about what's actually needed you can make that £/euro stretch.
