I have an eTap Front derailluer that my LBS looked at when they rebuilt my bike following a crash and said they thought it looked straight. When the time came to actually fit it to the bike they couldnt get it to cleanly shift and it turns out when you offer it up against another new FD it had taken a slight knock.

I stumped up the cash and bought a new one obviously but i'm now the proud owner of a bent FD that works absolutly fine in terms of the mechanics of the servos moving the chain guide around but the chain guide needs changing.

My question is...... After taking a look at a mechanical FD the chain guide parts look exactly the same. Does any one know if it is possible to strip them both down and swap out the Shifter part to give me a good eTap FD as a spare as obviously a new Mechanical FD is about 25% of the cost of a eTap one?!!
