When Campy came out with 2x12 I hinted that the world of drivetrains was probably going to skip 2x13 altogether on the path to 1x14 (which can be close to 2x11 in range and jumps.) Well Rotor's brought us much closer to that reality today.

I don't think it's surprising Rotor was the first to do it. We often joke about how much SRAM's front derailleurs suck and how that drove them toward promoting 1x. Well a company invested so heavily in promoting non-round rings has an even bigger reason to go 1x...

This accelerates the timeline to 1x14...I expect either SRAM or Rotor to drop that bomb on us by 2020.

Still waiting for someone to introduce two-speed freehub and will stop the cog race.
