So I do not ride in wet weather and it is extremely flat here (75km ride you may hit 125m of elevation) so is it worth moving from a rim brake allez sprint to an allez sprint disc? Several people in the area are moving to disc brakes, but I can't tell if it is due to "better" or because its the "new thing".

If you want to spend money, sure, do it.

If you're happy with what you have, I wouldn't bother.

The disc brake package is all-around stiffer than the rim brake package.

And better stopping power isn't just for descents....

The Sagan scheme looks so much better in person. Seen the new tarmac and I almost lost it

Lots of talk here about adapters in BB30 bearings will creak. Is this specific to Specialized or what?
I have a 2nd Jamis Renegade. It has BB386 and Wheel MFG adapters to use Shimano crank. Never heard a creak.

I understand the Allez frame will come with BB30 bearings.
Two options for Shimano crank: 1) the easier/cheaper. Use these adapters, but eventually will creak. https://r2-bike.com/WHEELS-MFG-Innenlag ... owtech-48g
2) Use Praxis Works BB and have better chance to avoid creaking. https://r2-bike.com/PRAXIS-WORKS-bottom ... road-crank

Been using wheel mfg adapter on my specialized bikes, no issues at all. My old rim allez also installed with the adapter, no issues.

@Kesselflicker - how is the rear derailleur di2 cable routed? It looks like it is fixed externally to the frame? Has it been wrapped with anything to strengthen it?

Is this seatpost with 0 setback? Bought separately?

Hi,

Rear Di2 cable fixed with a cable tie.
Yes, seatpost with zero offset. Bought from Specialized, but temporary sold out.

Di2 cable exit the chainstay at about 5cm in front of rear derailleur mount.

There is also a rubber plug to make it look nicer but I lost it.

Quick and dirty snap of my di2 build (size 49) for reference. I Probably should have routed every cable to the left side instead of left cable cross to right (and right shifter to front brake).

Link or part number on seatpost?

You can find a copy from ebay. 5mm setback though.
