Strada DUE
Moderator: robbosmans
So when 1x just wont DUE you can now get the Strada DUE 2x
Just received an email from 3T about the DUE, seems to be electrical only.
I’m sure AquaBlue will be racing this asap lol

You beat me
Most of us had seen it coming tough ...
Sram and 3T were pushing despite all the '' blabla '' stuff 1X
It's not the best solution for pros considering the gear avalaible right now ...
I love 1X for some applications but they should have put 2X on it from the start . With the possibility to remove front derailleur support
It's not that complex , why did it take so long , how many races could have been better position or even winning , we won't know
Mechanics weren't too happy about changing chains , cassettes and chainrings so often ...
And CX1 rear derailleur isn't that great sorry ...
With 2X 53/39 and 11/28 or 11/30 : 99% of the time for them
Except for Paris ROubaix or some epic moutains stage on the vuelta or giro ...

Some may say they wanted to see how well 1X was compatible with pro racing
But most of us knew , 1X was going to be troublesome
Maybe they counted on the 1X thing , to get a lot more of publicity than just an aero bike as aero with wider tires ?
That's my feeling
Man , the Aquablue guys must have been really pissed off
And telling 3T : put us a *f##k* front derailleur support or we'll buy us some others bikes ...

vroomen is so full of sh***. last year he boasted their would be no 2x setup for the strada. crappy sales and pr disaster at the tour de suisse -> 2x is okay. btw 8 watts saved from removal of a front derailleur really LOL. btw where is the aero data from 3t ?

This is awesome news, That colour looks great, and showing it off with Campagnolo. For an aero bike it's cool to still have the option of running a normal stem and bars. With new Specialized, Trek, Cannondale, etc the focus on the complete is nice, but a noticable lack of traditional drop options.
LOL, 90% of the 1x advocates pwned by this move (I do have a 1x road bike myself, well, technically 2, if TT is included)
I'd say this will sell even less than the 1x original one, as it has lost its main "selling point" regardless of how crappy it was, and does not have anything else to put against the
swarm of recently announced new aero road disc offerings from the big manufacturers.

I find it really strange that FD removal saves you as much W as aero frame.

Geometry say:
Rear Center: 405mm
Does it make it out of Shimano specs considering its 2x and Disk only?

A majority of race oriented disc bikes are now back to short chain stays.
For the marketing claims nothing is impossible 🤪TurboKoo wrote:I find it really strange that FD removal saves you as much W as aero frame.
