Probably not a necessary post seeing everyone on this site knows about them and a fair proportion of us have a pair. And there has already been a post about gen 4 over a month ago. But thanks.

Have a look at the Campy Record direct mount. Pretty similar design at a fraction of the cost. Performance is on par with the Gen3 EE brakes I borrowed waiting for these to arrive.

Ok. Bought them. One week of pain during install. Damn! Craig! I want same drugs.

1. One bolt broken. Ok. It’s my mistake. But 5Nm Craig! Five! Alu bolts on 300 euro brake?!
2. Adjusting screw is insane. Internal diameter is 5mm. Length is 22mm. Hole is 2mm. Ferrules? Liner? Ok half an hour with file and liner finally fits.
3. “Housing should sits naturally”. Yeah! All frame manufacturers are sleeping and thinking about 25 degree and 7mm play.
4. Small one. Metal washers not prevents brake rotation.
5. “Stiffer spring” is too stiff.
6. Craig. I have serious question. Why without lube your brakes squeaks under load? Small shim in top junktion. Can you think about this?

Conclusion: lot of pain on install but good brakes..

Why don't you mail Craig instead?
He's a very helpful and nice guy.

I have set up two bikes with the Ee brakes a tarmac sl5 an a supersix. No problem at all when you read the instructions and use a torque wrench.
Some of your complaints are personal preferences. I like how strong the spring is for example!
Where did you bought them? maybe they can answer your questions.
M5 brakes where mutch more dificult to set up and more fragile in my experience.

Mine have been fit and forget. Took a while to get them perfect, but now no issues at all.

Weird!
Craig have answered me very fast every time i have asked something.
My gen 2 brakes are very easy to set up and never give me headache.
But sure, i would be super happy to get gen 4.

Used them with Shimano DA 9000 and now Sram Red Etap.
Cane Creek recently sent me two slamset cap bolts for free.
Always superb service for me.

My eeBrakes have also been set and forget.

I've tried a lot of the best, including Dura Ace 9150, and eeBrakes work best for me by a long shot!

Wow, EE's are particularly easy to set up in my opinion. Obviously not as easy as Shimano but far less fussy than other boutique brakes.

I have to admit that their sensitivity to housing length is extremely annoying. Since I moved on a smaller super six evo (50) I tried 5 or 6 housing length and can’t get the rear brake to properly come back...
