Öööööhh mmmmhhh what R5 colours, black and almost black, soooo booooring colours from Cervelo again.
Cervelo is light years behind other brands desings if you compare colours.
Really sad because that R5 is super nice and beautiful frame.

Black on black will always sell, but I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t a brighter option.

When I was at the launch I asked Phil Spearmon if there were any plans for a custom colour program or more special edition paints but it didn’t sound like a priority for them.

There is a lovely powder blue coming on a few other models in the range though, and the new P5X looks great in the flesh.

The 2019 R3 Disc comes in a nice bright color if you're not fond of the understated look. Though, IMO the 2018 fluoro frame was nicer

I like that color! What are the stats on it after you finished?

Few questions:

1) What did the frame itself weigh in at?
2) Is the fork a full carbon job, or is the steerer alloy?

And please can you provide a little review of how it rides? Comfort, stiffness, handling...

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a rim brake one.

yes sir, full carbon fork!
never threw the frame alone on the scale, sacrilegious i know! A noob move for sure, but this is both my first road bike and frame-up build, so please forgive my ignorance.

I have only gotten a teeny lil 20-miler on ‘er since grabbing her this evening (thanks storms), but she handles like shes on rails and the carbon seatpost and bars do a great job at reducing road chatter at my most sensitve of touchpoints!

Again, with this being my first full-fledged road bike my review may not have the same weight as roadie vets, but compared to my Crossrip this thing floats, flies, and cuts like a

Purple Rain weighs in just under 18 lbs. @ 17.8, those shallower Hunt rims i almost pulled the trigger on woulda had me probably at 17 or under but i have been eyeing these deep-rim Bonny’s and at speed i really like the decision i made with aero>weight in the wheel department, plus any issues will be quickly solved at my local Trek shop.

Thanks for confirming fork details and for the first impressions... I'm hoping to see one up close and personal in the next week or so.

any other high end aero bikes besides the Venge that can handle 30c+ tires. BMC is only 28c and although that is probably ok, just means I likely wont be getting those Enve 4.5AR for double duty on road/gravel. Slighly bummed.

I was told the new Fuji Transonic should be capable of 32mm measured both online and by a local Specialized shop when talking with them about a Transonic or a Venge. The Transonic hasn't been released yet so there's no anecdotal confirmation. The women's version (Fuji Supreme) is specced to clear 30mm, so that might be more accurate.

Here is my Emonda ALR5 Disc - built today. Excuse the spacer stack for now!

It's a 60cm, frame weight in the Purple Flip colour came in at 1284g, this included the rear derailleur hanger and cage bolts, all other removables were not weighed. Fork is 394g uncut.

I'm pretty happy with the weights, I'd estimated at 1300g with the presumably pretty heavy paint scheme and it being a larger size!

Beautoful! How tall are you? I'm between the 58 and 60, how did you know it would fit you?

This is my fourth H2 Trek, so I'm pretty familiar with the geometry and how it fits for me. I usually run with a 5mm spacer below the stem, but have a bike fit booked this week to see if that needs to be changed, then I'll cut the steerer.

I'm 194cm and saddle height is currently 835mm.
