H i guys i am off to the alps for 3 weeks and want to know if there is a cheaper alternative to change my chainrings from 52/36 to 50/34 4 arm super record set up?.
The campy chainrings are sooooooo expensive,i was looking at buying the centaur chainset and swapping out the rings, will this work as the rings are near on £200 and i can get a chainset for £99.
This will only be used for 3 weeks then swap them back.

Which max gearing will you need?
Not much a difference between 36 and 34 teeth....
34-27 is approximately 36-29?
Or do you really need 34-29??

And for 3 (three!!!) weeks in the Alps I would pay the price for a new chain etc.....so if you really need this 34 instead of 36 I would certainly do it...no matter the price...

When do you need them by? I have a pair you can borrow (you're not that far from me) but I've already lent them to a friend who's going to the Pyrenees soon. If the dates don't clash it could work.

Then make the jump to 50/34 and you will may use them later also.
We all get older. I personally use also a 34 (/27) in the Alps compared to 39 (/23) 30 years ago....
