Upgrading from Shimano R785 to Ultegra R8070??

I've got Shimano R785 on one of my bikes and was wondering if it's worth it now to upgrade to the newer Ultegra R8070, I like the idea of the more ergo shifters. How much of a weight savings is there in shifters/brake calipers. Haven't really found anything definitive online. Thanks!

8070 levers without oil: 2x 182g weighted by me. And yes, the shape is good for small hands.

Sorry to threadbounce, but is it possible to uprgrade to from R785 to R8070 shifters and brake calipers, with the latest battery (and new Junction box, I would guess) but keep my existing R785 series rear and front deraileurs? The shimano e-tube "map" makes little sense to me. Thanks

Do you mean to use the Ultegra shifters AND flat mount calipers? In which case, there's no problem. The older generation stuff is compatible (except the 1st Gen DA 7900 stuff).

I can imagine it makes a little sense since you probably have 6870 FD and RD.
But yes those work with new battery and ST-R8070 shifters.

Yes, I want to use the new Ultegra shifters and flat mount. I assumed that my R785 Front and Rear Deraileurs were identical to 6870 units but frankly when I went to the Shimano page for R-785 it told me they were Alfine/Comfort group? Ive bought the bike second hand so the normal R785 deraileurs are 6870 ones??

No, 785's are 785's. They're non-series shifters, like the 685's. They're about the equivalent to 6800, but they aren't labeled as such.

Even Alfine will work with any e-Tube Di2 arrangment, so don't worry about it.
