Hi WW,
I would like to thankyou all for my answering my numerous questions about power meters and BB standards over the last few months.

In the end I went with a Quarq Dzero Carbon with Quarq not Sram red graphics.

For those interested here are some weights:
- Sram Red 110BCD 11sp 52T Blast Black chainring 145g
- Sram Red 110BCD 11sp 36T chainring 42g
- Dzero Non-Hidden Bolt bolts 23g
- Left arm w/ factory grease 170mm 170g
- Right arm, spider, spindle 170mm 110mm BCD 391g
- 2 pedal washers 0g

Coming from an Ultegra 6800 172.5mm crankset with 52-36 rings
- Left arm 201g
- Cap + rubber ring 5g
- Right arm + chainrings 499g

Overall there was an increase in weight (assuming bottom brackets weighed the same) but im happy with having power.

Nice :thumbup:

For reference comparison (170mm cranks, 110BCD, without chainrings, BB & spacers (if necessary):
* P2M NG with FSA KForce Light cranks is 571g (the lightest "universal" crank based PM (fits almost every BB) they've got).
* P2M Type S FSA KForce Light+ is 588g
* P2M Type S Rotor 3D+ is 606g
* P2M Type S Cannondale SISL2 172.5mm is 498g
Minimum bike categories required in the stable:
Aero bike | GC bike | GC rim bike | Climbing bike | Climbing rim bike | Classics bike | Gravel bike | TT bike | Indoors bike

So with those weights you listed, a dzero gxp is lighter than the P2M NG Kforce light.

That's pretty cool that only the SiSl2 is lighter because from my knowledge that is a significantly more expensive crankset.
I guess the little bits that add up would be the weight of different brand chainrings, spacers, BB's

SiSL2 and / or Specialized S works both would be excellent and light choices, but you need a "true" BB30 frame to fit them.

after much deliberation (about a year ago) I also went for a GXP DZero and Red rings. It's been great - really easy to swap between my cross / commute bike and 'good' bike. Much quicker than swapping pedals, and can get a GXP BB in just about any frame, including the genesis zero disc im building up ! Enjoy.

How does the Quarq DZero BB30 (386 spindle) compare to the gxp version in weight?

BB30 Red Quarq ready crank is 410g without spider, add Quarq Dzero spider weight on top of it: SRAM say 110BCD is 122g, but in reality probably 10-20g heavier.

From Quarq when I was thinking same thing:

There is roughly a 25g difference from our GXP to our BB30 cranks. The GXP is lighter for our cranks.

Interesting! Thought it would be the other way. Hard to believe a 30 mm Aluminium spindle weighs more than a 24 mm steel spindle.

Won’t really matter in the end. If you use a GXP crankset in a BB30 shell, you will have to include the weight of adapters or a conversion BB.

Unless you go with boutique cranks, the lightest full or dual-leg PM option will be Favero Assioma Duos.

My Quarq BB30 seems to be lighter than the GXP.

DFour BB30 170mm
50T R9000 ring 102g
34T R9000 ring 26g
4 bolts 4g
NDS arm with 30mm spindle 262g
DS arm with PM w/o battery 315g

Total 709g

As I would with a BB 30 spindle to avoid the creaking. Thread together BB with a PressFit BB is a must for me!

Answer from Quarq.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for reaching out to us! There is essentially no weight difference between the BB30 and the GXP Dzero. I hope this helps! If you have any further questions let me know.

Cheers,
Luke
