Having a stem be perpendicular to a steerer tube is neither here nor there aesthetically. The lines I want to match are either the stem to the top tube if it’s around 5 degrees or less...or just have it be horizontal.
A 0deg stem with no spacers achieving the same height as a more aggressive stem with spacers has roughly the same frontal area. Specialized’s riser bars increase your stack without much increase in frontal area.
