Those issue with the bike and the team ie incorrect chain lenghts. Nothing to do with 1x

If it is fitted with a clutch, is that going to leave it notably heavier than the current Etap rear derailleur?

Hmm... if that's the case, coupled with the useless to me 10 cog up cassette, Etap 12 speed is staring to slip off my wish list.

Sorry guys, went back for more pictures today, but Jeremy wasn’t feeing great and left the race before the bikes came out of the van. I tried to get some pictures but the mechanic kept me from getting too close.

Wout isn't using a chain guide so I doubt it's a requirement... but if J-Pows is, I guess it's not as good at holding the chain tight as the Force 1 mechanical rear derailleur.
I find it almost impossible to believe SRAM would go backwards here...and in fact would guess it's one of the areas we will see the most improvement in the groupset besides adding the extra cog.

shimano pm is a design failure. they are limiting production. i guess the flaws will be fixed in the all new 12 speed dura ace in 2020
This is speculation, but it seems like it's very tough to design a PM around the current Shimano cranks due to the asymmetrical DS crank causing torque vector measurement issues. GPLama's Stages LR has a similar problem to the Shimano PM...aka L/R balance issues and the right side reading low.

Has anyone experienced similar lopsidedness with the new Pioneers or 4iiii units built around the newer Shimano cranksets?
This is completely off, but I was using the DA 9000 pioneer for years and now I have the DA 9100 with simano PM on the same bike. I get exactly the same L/R balance I had with the pioneer PM. Also I believe that the reason of the low stock of the DA 9100 PM is that they had a big fire in their factory.

I've been very happy with my DA9100PM during the last 12 months, not so much with the Pioneer dual-side unit which my LBS took back after 3 months. What I like most about my DA9100PM is its data consistancy, no signal drop and long battery life. I also like the physical zero-ing button on the crank. As far as I understand Shimano is still shipping DA9100PM to LBS, at least in the US but quantity has been limited. In fact I received an email from the popular e-tailer Texas Cycle Sport 2 months ago about special pricing (what else?) on the few units they have just received.

Will there be a Force eTap option?

SRAM has historically delivered our technologies to various price points and we see our system options ultimately expanding. More information to follow.

This isn't anything new. SRAM has historically said they would release Force eTap when they were able to get the component prices down.

SRAM and Giant should release this blacked out eTap 12x for their retail team bikes as "special edition".
