a clutch, wireless, 12 speed, and more interesting gear ratios might entice me in a few years.
the mtb/road incompatibility is such a moronic business decision. they would own the gravel market if they changed that.
Shimano releases new cassette design and 12spd for XTR- durace next?

I thought Dura Ace was on four year development cycles? 7900 was released in the 2009 product year, 9000 in the 2013 product cycle and 9100 in the 2017 cycle. I would expect the next Dura Ace to be sold in the 2021 cycle and start showing up in prototype form in early 2020 and announced publicly in June-July 2020.wingguy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 01, 2018 3:20 pmNah dude, DA was announced summer 2016, ultegra 8000 was 2017 and 105 2018. According to the cycle DA9200 can be expected to be announced next summer.
I would be surprised if the new microspline hub was put on the road group, you don’t need it to do 2x12 with an 11 sprocket. Would be interesting if there was an option to have it for road 1x11 though, along with a clutch derailleur option.
That's if they stick with four year cycles. Previous to 7900, DA was released in five or six year cycles. 7800 was 2004 product and 7700 was 1998 product.

Wireless isn’t coming unless SRAM’s derailleur mounted battery patent is invalidated...or if Shimano can actually implement its dynamo pulley rear derailleur and its movement powered front derailleur.
