Chain length question i never really thought about before

thanks for all your help
got everything working smooth
kmc chain was well long enough
got the 10-speed campy shifting surprisingly well on the sram cassette
moved the cable away from the clamping bolt a slight bit
not ideal. its clamped right on the edge.
would like to devise some kind of larger clamping area with a couple washers and a longer bolt.
