anyone managed to weigh or ride the advanced Pro disc vs the advanced SL disc back to back?

right now looking into these two with the SL being about a 700g lighter but also $1000 dearer here in Australia

For me it's the heavier wheels which put me off the disc versions - the wheels and rotors are around 0.5kg heavier per wheelset compared to their rim equivalent. Unless the SL disc uses lighter rims than the Pro disc?

I'm sure there are lighter aftermarket wheelset options, but for a £4000 bike I think 1.25kg for a front wheel is too heavy. Sure you can pay another £1200 for lighter wheels, but the £2600 Advanced Pro 1 is still be a better climbing bike than the £4000 disc bike with its stock wheels.

So to update, based on what has been said on this thread I managed to swap the Advanced 2 for an Advanced Pro 1 (rim) and took the wheels back to the shop. I decided, on balance, that the Advanced Pro 1 is a much better bike with full Ultegra groupset, carbon steerer, upgraded stem and handlebar, and I would be kicking myself in 6 months time for not paying the extra. I'll be keeping the SLR wheels on the bike.

It looks super nice with the jet black frame with glossy red down tube. Very happy with it and I haven't even ridden it yet. I'm sure it will be fantastic.
Nice. Is there a better value for money bike right now than the 2018 TCR Advanced Pro 1? Seems impossible to beat for the spec, performance and price (currently AUD$3200/USD$2370 in stores).

Maybe Canyon Ultimate CF SL could come close.

one thing with Canyon's though is their 2-5 year warranty on frames vs Giant's lifetime. Obviously have to be original owner

I did see a 2017 TCR Advanced Pro 0 (rim) in matt black/blue/red in the Giant Store yesteray reduced from £4099 to £2900. It has full Dura-Ace, which looks really nice, but the frame is matt instead of gloss. I'm not sure it matches the gloss black cracks on that groupset.
