But I still can’t remember what “SCS” actually stood for... Specialized Compatibility System? :)

Seriously? Thanks... I almost guessed that but thought that would be as dumb as my tongue in cheek "Specialized Compatibility System". Same thing I guess. :)

Prefer my old one in terms of looks. Wonder if the new one gets down to 6.8 kg though?
I have the 2018 model so I feel mixed about it, I prefer the downtube and the stem on the 2018, but everything else on the 2019 is better, likely the 2019 will weigh far less as well. I can't tell if the 2019 is a more conventional stem with a fairing or if its fully integrated like the 2018 was, but that whole system weighs a ton.

I'm guessing Specialized will market the 2019 venge as "just as fast" but with more comfort and about 1 lbs less, a more overall aero bike meant to compete better with the likes of the F10.

Looks like a Cervelo S5

Except for the lack of rear wheel cutout, the seatstay location, the near horizlntal top tube and the seatpost. Yep, exactly the same as an s5.

Ha! S5 is the least similar bike :)

Looks like a mix between a Reacto and Aeroad. Better looking than the Reacto for sure. Good looking bike. I'm guessing 6.8-7.0kg. Frame needs to offer some serious aero/stiffnes gains (or sponsor money) for the riders to pick it before the SL6 which is such a complete frame.

Own an SL6.. this Venge is def nice.. but the whole disc thing is a massive turn off for me unless its on a CX or MTB... hopefully there is a rim brake model just out of principle.. but I doubt it...

Not sure which is more boring, this new Venge or the upcoming Cannondale aero.

As a owner of a SL6 disc, if this came out 6 months ago.. this would be seriously considered.

I like the way Specialized is moving towards the simple effective design without much proporitary "features"

They're all basically the same now.. biggest difference between all of them is how creaky will the bottom bracket be without after market!!

The new, much more conventional, design is a proof that all the effort, time and research invested on the previous design, all the claims about its novel tubes, its supreme performance, its 'clever' integration, its unique fairings etc. etc. were... for nothing.
You just summed up the entire road bike industry.

Thanks for the detailed photos MatosVelo.

I'm not sure cyclingnews has moved in to the 21st century with its postage stamp sized photos.

140mm front rotor and I'm not sure a 160mm can fit in that fork. If I'm right that's a hard pass. I won't ride a disc bike with 140mm front rotor.
