Just heard a rumor that Specialized will release a new generation of Venge this summer, perhaps before Tour de France. No more details.

Some features I would like to see:
- A lot lighter than current version, especially the integrated stem-handlebar
- Disc-brake
- frame mount di-2 junction box compatible

Maybe one that doesn’t look like it fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down?

I doubt there will even be a rim-brake version. When's the last time you saw the current rim-brake Venge ViAS on Specialized's website?

Good point. Seeing that Roval 321 disc has a disc-brake version, I think the new Shiv will be equiped with disc-brake too.

Bring back rim brakes. And decent looks.

Overall it would make a lot of sense to update the Venge given they did the same to the Roubaix & Tarmac respectively. And obviously there's quite some room for improvements as well, both in weight / user friendliness / looks etc. and changes to 3:1 rules etc.

Also curious when the Shiv will get some updates, there seems to be some room for improvement there as well.

According to the Specialized rep, improved aesthetics was a big focus. Hopefully will ditch the riser bar set up.

Good catch. Does look a little like the aeroad, doesn’t it? (Which is not a bad thing, if you ask me)
