I'm assuming they sanded it back for the repaint. I'm curious if a custom or factory paint job would weight more...

I believe most painters leave the base on to use a primer if appropriate, or respray a primer on top of it if needed. Custom repaint should be heavier.

6.54kg complete build

Yes took them a week to sand it right back to bare carbon, then just a day to add clearcoat.

I like the paint, but all those weight weenie parts look wrong to me on this frame. Not aero anymore, but also not really lightweight.

How?

47.5mm lightweight aero wheels (lots of Venge's on CLX50s).

Full paint strip with minial reapplication, I think it looks sick.

Etap / THM / SRM / Extralite groupset.

Aero cockpit.

:noidea:

Really don't know how it could be more aero unless going with 60mm+ wheels, and not sure how it could be any lighter without going for custom cockpit and Berk-esque saddle.

Looks like a regular round cockpit with exposed cables. It's a bit odd on a Venge, but everything else is superb.

Apart from not liking the feel of Aerofly's the reason for the round bars is I like to ride hilly TT's on it, I can't climb to well on my SHIV.

Complete with eTap blips..

Mind to share what you don't like about the Aerofly? I though about buying it...

Sure, mainly the flat top section, prefer the feel of round bars, secondly they're heavier, lastly I can't fit tri-bars.

It does come down to personal preference, it's one of bonuses for me when looking for a new bike.
