Exactly this. When my 520's battery got down to barely 9 hours per charge, there were only three Garmin upgrade paths: 520 Plus, 820 and 1030. I went with the 1030 because it had amazing battery life and it had a much more responsive UI than the 820.

I'm just watching the tour and thinking: there you go, a plus for big GPS units!!

Use them as a tt position stabilizer.

Ive always done this... just dont forget the lock the screen, otherwise you might end up with weird stuff in your fields

i didn't know they actively used nav to check upcoming corners on fast descents. that's pretty cool.

Yep, no problem. Just fitted them - have not yet ridden (tomorrow!) Loads of clearance left.

I had CLX 50s before and to me the bike was just as good before. The front on the Rapides is more stable. That is the most readily apparent difference. Plus the much louder free hub (I really liked the quiet of the CLXs - might need to take the hub apart and add some grease to make it less noisy).

Exactly my experience. Coming from CL 50s. I belive internal width is slightly larget on new Rapides which translates into a better confort. It can be windy where I live, definetly feel the difference in cross winds and better stability and complance overall. The best wheelset I've owned so far. Running Contis 5000 28mm. Extremelly happy with this setup.

Vittoria Corsa TLR, 25mm. Looks like this on the rim - you can see the lip but not that much when fully inflated.

Does anyone have any experience with filing the transition spacer for 6degree stem down to make it work with the 12degree stem? Spend ages waiting for the headset kit (S182500011) to arrive only to realise Specialized screwed me on needing yet another special part as it's seemingly not included in the set.

I also had to file down the transition spacer, see my post from a few pages back:

Thanks! There's a specific transition spacer available but I forgot to order it.
I had to file down the beading where the cables enter and the parts beside it.
Otherwise the cables get squashed and the spacers will be bent downward against the top of the steerer tube.

Has anyone here put a direct mount rear derailleur hanger on their Venge?

If so, any issues and which are you using? I only seem to be able to find one by wheels manufacturing.

Anyone else?

I've ordered the wheels manufacturing one.
