Get wider wheels and wider tires, run tubeless, then lower your tire pressure. My Aeroad on tubeless 32s rides smooth as silk.scapewalker wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 12:30 pmDo you guys reckon Specialized will add a technology similar to Treks isospeed to make the next Venge more compliant?
I still feel like my Venge is pretty darn harsh.
My 2019 Venge is super smooth on everything except big bumps with CLX 50 wheels and Schwalbe Pro One v2 28c tires that measure 28.5mm run tubeless. Super solid cornering performance too.dcorn wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 1:31 pmGet wider wheels and wider tires, run tubeless, then lower your tire pressure. Aero bikes not comfy... it's as comfy or more comfy than my BMC granfondo and my btwin. I have a seletion of wheels I have Hunt 30's with 28mm S-works 2bliss, CLX64 with 26mmm turbo cottons & I have used the CL50's with 26mm s-works. I have never found the bike uncomfy

They will for sure do something with carbon layup to make it ride like the fact 12 tarmacs. If you want a comfortable race bike, get a Team Roubaix with future shock 2.0.scapewalker wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 12:30 pmDo you guys reckon Specialized will add a technology similar to Treks isospeed to make the next Venge more compliant?

They can only do so much with different layups. Shape is an important factor when talking about compliance, and aero. Consider a 2x4, and consider how easy it is to bend across the 2” plane. The 4” plane, not so much. Vertical compliance when talking aero tubes in a bicycle means bending the tubes in the 4” plane. The only way around that is to add suspension, and typically weight. No free lunch so to speak.

Any chance of a seatpost that is like the one on the Reactor? IsoSpeed seems kinda useless considering 9/10 people I know who use it keep it on the stiffest setting anyway. Seatpost stiffness seems to help the Madone a lot and they use a mast, but I just don’t see the big red S going in that direction

Isospeed in my opinion is just an unwanted weight. May be good if you ride shit roads but even that it's mostly unnecessary. 28mm tires at the appropriate pressure are plushy enough unless you plan on riding gravel, which means you should in fact reconsider your bike choice in the first place. Trying to have a one do it all bike is an exercise in unneeded compromises.

As you go faster, any road imperfection feel harder. This is why all cars have suspension system, and we all slow down to reduce the impact of speed bump.
For a bike that supposed to move very fast. Having suspension system allow it to keep its speed on worse road.
However, making Venge a fast aero machine with comfort of suspension system sound awfully similar to the concept of newest roubaix...

As far as confort goes, I have been riding my venge pro fully stock for about 2 months now, total distance around 6 thousand kilometres, 1025 done in a single week, last week I did 830 k's in 5 days, with the largest being an 8 hour ride, around 230 k's, 30 of which where a local hill climb race, and all I have to say is that this bike is perfect!!!! It is comfortable, light, and fast as hell!!!!! Totally recommend it for any racer, current weight of the bike is 7,9 with power meter pedals on it, mounts and heavy bottle cages, everything else is stock, gonna start changing bits as time passes by ad I believe that by this time next year, the weight eill be bellow 7 kilos hopefully.
Can anyone please measure on Venge 2019 (shimano) distance between end of crank and chain @52-11 (front / rear) gears?
I measured approx 1.2mm which I think is not enough, chain also damaged my crank due that.
On service they told me that on last year Venges (i.e. 2018...) distance should be ~5mm and on new Venge 2019-2020 it's ok if it's approx 2mm ?!?
