S-Works Venge 2019

I have pretty much the same measurments and rock a 56cm with 90mm stem; slammed. If I had the choice all over; Id go 54cm with 110-120mm stem. I just feel more secure with handling when the stem is longer.

I'm in that same boat as you but I don't think switching from a 56 to a 54 allows you to increase the stem by 20-30mm as the differences in frames are not that big. If you can tolerate a 120mm stem (I know I can't) then you can easily accomodate a 100mm stem on a 56.
It really is very personall. For instance, length of the arms. In my last bikefit, the bikefitter compared my measures to the shimano dataset and the system alerted to the unusual arm length (2cm less then average for the height). That enough creates several difficulties that height and inseam would not indicate. It is easier and more precise to start with a bike one already has.
Dont forget the flatter head tube angle on the 56cm and also the steeper seat tube angle which further increases real reach. Reach is stated 12mm longer on the 56cm plus head tube / Seat tube angle which accounts for another 1cm for the same given stack with spacers.pmprego wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 11:27 amI'm in that same boat as you but I don't think switching from a 56 to a 54 allows you to increase the stem by 20-30mm as the differences in frames are not that big. Yes, i thought about that and was about to write "20mm at a maximum" but then ai didn't. But yeah, I'd say 20mm at a maximum but unless you feel slightly cramped I'd say that 20mm would be to much. Maybe 10mm in the stem and 5mm more in the bars.ViperFFM wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 2:13 pmDont forget the flatter head tube angle on the 56cm and also the steeper seat tube angle which further increases real reach. It actually depends if you are using the aerofly ii (not the "new" rapide) size 40cm or higher. If you take the new rapide handlebar which are 5mm shorter than 20mm in the stem makes total sense. And it would be a more stable bike indeed.
I also had the feeling the reach of the aerofly bar is rather long...

85mm for sizes 40cm and bigger, 75 for the 38s. The new roval rapide bars have 75mm reach across all sizes
Vivo, are you sure you don`t want to sell the frame? I can`t find any possibilities to get my hands on one somewhere else
Vivo3d wrote: ↑Fri Jul 09, 2021 1:42 pmYeah, and also barely done any riding with it because of work and knee pain. So it's only hanging on the wall . And unless I can't ride it after my next surgery, I won't sell it because the colour is just so lovely. Sorry
do you still have the purple venge frame for sale?

I am waiting for my own crash replacement frame. If it is this color, it would *almost* have made the crash worth iticantaffordcycling wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 1:16 amIt's Ferrari red, it's going to be a warranty only color and stupid rare. If you can get your hands on one in a 49, please let me know.
Cleaning ultegra venge Pro and I turned the pedals by hand and rear wheel spinning OK, but pedals continued to turn as well, which has never happened before Tried changing through the gears all seemed OK, spinning pedals back also seems OK. I have a race in the morning, is it safe to ride? Any ideas what it could be?
