At this moment I'm using a traditional handlebar (Zipp sl88) on my S-works venge (you can find a photo of it a couple of pages ago).
Why did I use a traditional handlebar? I have more drop in the hoods because it isn't flat (I never ride on top of my handlebar) + love the looks of old school.
Now that the -12 degree stem available is, I'm in doubt to change my old school handlebar to the new aerofly 2. The more drop from the stem will be compensated with the flat aerofly 2.
Would it be a huge work to change the handlebars? My biggest concern are the cable for the brakes. Would there be a solution so I don't need the whole process of bleeding the brakes?
Ive got the Aerofly 2s for my tarmac and Venge.. they are setup for internal routing only, so you will need to redo your brakes as you'd have to disconnect from somewhere.. also note that there is a foam tube sleeve that goes over the rear cable and is the length of the headset to the BB shell, so don't go pulling and tugging too much...

The bat ends for the bar were included with your bike/frameset (the plastic piece that blends it to the stem), if you lost them, they do NOT come with the bars, they are a seperate part, but they are cheap (like $5 for the pair) or something...

Hello all! I'm considering one of these beauties. I had my LBS weigh one without pedals and it came in at this. Does this seem a bit heavy considering pedals will put on another 230 grams or so? This thing is being touted online as 7.1 KG ready to ride.

The reviews say a 56 should weight 7.1kg and you have 7.2kg there. You could probably find 100 grams by removing spacers, shortening cables, and going tubeless with 25ml of sealant.

Size 54. I should have stated that in the OP.

Yeah I usually run the stem slammed. Pribabaky wont go tubeless quite yet. I appreciate all your suggestions! I understand claimed weight is its own thing. I just feel like this particular one may be a heavier one in a bulk run. If there’s even such a thing.

I searched and came up with the weight of 60 grams for 2 ounces of Stan's. If that bike has 100 gram tubes then you'd save 140 grams right there. Removing spacers, cutting the steerer and shortening cables will save a bit more. It sounds like weight is pretty much on the money.

Hey man thanks for looking into it! I have to search this thread and find others who have the same bike with their weights posted.

300 miles into my new s-works Venge. Plenty comfortable... Even compared with my Bianchini Infinito. Strongly suspect the 26mm tubeless helps.

7.4kg in size 54 with CLX 50s. 2 bottle cages (Arundel). Spd-sl. 52/36. 11-30 cassette. GPS and Go-Pro Mount. Rear light mount. Basically ready to ride, just no actual saddle bag or bottles or GPS or lights.
You've changed out the 64s for 50s? If you're referring to the Turbo Cottons on the wheels, they're not tubless, but you may have some standard Turbos on there, in which case, I stand corrected.
I switched the tires out to the Spec Tubeless Turbo 26s. Running them at 70f 80r. I'm 160lbs. Very very smooth.
Seth,

I saw your post while perusing the thread. Thought you could give me a solid answer as you own one of these beasts. I'm eyeing one myself. Had the shop send me this pic of the weight no cages no pedals. Does this weight seem right? Seems high to me. Thanks!

If 15.1 feels high to you, then you should be looking at an Emonda. My S-Works SL6 Tarmac with Di2 and Zipp 404s comes in at 15.1 with pedals and bottle cages.

Read the scale again. It's not 15.15. It's actually 15.94 pounds.
