Which barrel, rear or the front? Did you try to unscrew the front barrel to the max?

Both barrels loosened off to the max then tried to bring the Dyneema down and over the front barrel and it just wouldn't reach.

Never had a problem with the round Berk saddle.

Has anyone else tried the available adaptor from Darimo for fixing a front light via the GoPro adaptor? I have a Varia 800 and would love to mount it, Darimo said the weight/stress is fine but real world users would appease the mind a little! Last thing I want to see is either my Garmin stuff or the mount not attached to the bike

My Darimo mount broke sending both my Garmin edge 530 and small Bontrager light to the pavement. They sent a free replacement but I have since switched to the Alpitude mount.

Both Garmin and light are on the smaller side...its not like you had a Garmin Edge 1030 and Niterider light that's both heavy.

I may need to put a tether on my Karoo2 just in case (and with no light underneath).

Ive had bad luck with lightweight mounts and so have a number of friends of mine.. I dont want to see my 1030 doing cartwheels.

Good luck with the Alpitude holder. Mine snapped this morning sending my 1030Plus and Ion RT tumbling across the tarmac. Two months worth of riding for over one hundred euros. Total weight of 149.5 grams, so well under the manufacturer's stated 250g limit.

Does anyone know of a sturdier mount for Darimo stems? Maybe aluminum? I love the clean package leaving my bars uncluttered.

Agree this was a bit scary. Did you use a hex key as recommended in the video? What went wrong, I guess the fit was still too tight?

Yeap, have a hex key at 8mm in the gap and still can't get past the drops
