How common is this for this bar? Pretty disappointed as the bar is only a few months old. Of well, time to deal with warranty issue.

Good it was noticed in advance before separating on a descent, for instance...

If you could go back in time...Would you still recommend the 5D? Judging on your experience, I'm wary of FSA products now.

Should I go with an alternative two piece set up ? Still trying to do some bar+stem shopping for my new build.

Any component can fail. Even from the most reputable brands.

Do a google image search for 'cracked thompson stem' and see the results.
