Giant TCR 2019

Just wondering if going by the Giant time line that there would be a new TCR Pro frame for 2019 or it would carry over from 2018 with a different colour?
I had Giants 2009-2012 and loved them, quiet, reliable, stiff and comfy.
2012 I changed to Cannondale and although I love the brand the bikes just haven’t been as good.
Currently on a hi mod Supersix from 2013, the ride isn’t great, the B.B. flex is HUGE especially to the left, clearance won’t allow 25mm tyres and every few months the dreaded creek comes back.

2019 will be the same.

You can in fact check those out at the Taiwanese version of their site.

Eyeing on the TCR disc, but don't like the external hydraulic hose on the front. Hope they can hide it the cables just like Propel. But Propel is not as light as TCR. Can't make a decision~

Giant has a typical product cycle of 3 years... Although the current TCR was spotted under pro's mid 2015 and was released late 2015, the first models were called 2016.
The 2019 model should (fingers crossed) be the last model before a refresh, and we will most likely start seeing pros trialing any new TCR mid 2019.
Hope that makes sense!

Correctomundo. I have a 2016 TCR Advanced SL ad it looks exactly like the 2019.

However, the same model has been around since 2013. Also, 3 year for a model cycle is too short. I know S-Works has a 5-6 year cycle for models.

Errrr nope. Not even close. The pre-2016 TCR was a totally different frame. Not a single tube or layup piece carried over. They genuinely redesigned it from the ground up.

Errrr nope. Not even close. The S-Works Tarmac SL 2 was released for 2008 and the SL6 for 2018. 5 models in a decade is around a 2 year cycle. Significantly quicker turnover than Giant.

Yup all makes sense. Thank you!
Deciding between a 2018 TCR Pro or if I should wait for the 2019.
2018 looks great, will 2019 look better? Hmmm.

Maybe new integrated handlebar? Wider wheels?

Hard to say, but personally I love my 2017 advanced pro and I would be interested to see how much Giant could improve it for the next gen.
If it comes to that, you could buy the 2018 and then go for a new frameset when it is released.

I’ve gone for the TCR Advanced SL 2 with Ultegra.
It’s £650 cheaper than the Pro 0. I can get a power meter or Dura Ace crank with the money saved.
The integrated seat post put me off a little bit I’ve got long legs for a 6ft guy so doubt it will be an issue when I move it on.
Ultegra isn’t changing any time soon and the frame should be current for another 28 months.
Quite tempted with Ultegra power meter.

That would be great - I really like the SLR-0 climbing wheels, but 23mm wide 17C rims are outdated.

But they won't go one big step to 21C and 28mm outside, maybe 19C and 25mm next time...
