Any body have any idea what is the reason for the hole? It's not meant for internal cable routing as there is no hole near the stem clamp for the cable to exit from.

Could still be used for running a single E-tube wire down to a bar end junction box.

Now this looks nice!

Claimed 149g at 42cm wide, and with a 110kg weight limit. As seen today on IG. I'd seen the new logo on some cranks and quite like the new branding.

Looks like the partnership with 3T is coming to fruition with this bar. The coating in the clamp area looks just like a 3T, and I like the contrasting gloss/matte look. No more info at this time, but I already want it. No doubt this is going to be €500+ which rules me out unless I break my AX.

I guess it's not a direct ccompetitor to 3T's offerings.

Was in contact with Schmolke in regards to the TLO bars DI2 ready and it would seem [from my understanding] they have two holes drilled as per the Ulna but no third near the stem. Agree the third one makes sense

Why would you need one close to the stem?

You basically need to connect shifters to the bar end junction, and then run the wire to the frame together with the brake cables (starting from the shifter).

Edit: found this diagram in Di2 Wiring thread. Y-cable and the optional wireless BT unit will stay inside the bar (you can leave BT out if you want to follow Shimano recommendation). The wire going to the frame (z) will be routed externally with the brake cable.

On a 40cm bar, at the drops it's measured as 400mm C-C but because the drops flare out it's measured as 384mm C-C at the hoods. This is how 3T bars are measured. So this bar could be narrow enough for you if you currently run a 40m C-C at the hoods.

If you want fully internal (a la Madone, Venge, SystemSix)... ok I agree, but in that case no other aftermarket bar would allow it. Not even Pro, since the hole at the stem is only for Di2 wires (no brake cables/lines).

If you just want to hide the Di2 wires and JunctionA inside the bar using the bar end junction, you don’t need the hole near the stem.

I picked up a 40cm version (38.5cm at the hoods) of this bar. I currently have the 3T Ergonova which the Ulna is modeled after. However one major difference on the Ulna is the larger cross section of the horizontal part of the bar. I have small hands so it took a while to get used to gripping a larger bar. In the drops the cross section is the same as the Ergonova. I think 3T made the cross section larger to increase stiffness. This bar is stiff! I don’t sprint and I’m only after the weight savings of the Ulna. One interesting aspect of the Ulna is an internal structure inside the bar. It looks like a smaller semi-circular tube inside a larger tube. I didn’t attempt to photograph it as I didn’t think it would show up nicely in a photo. Again I think 3T did this for stiffness’ sake. Even with the internal structure it was easy to fish Di2 wiring through the bar using the provided holes near the hoods. As for weight it was 148g. The claimed weight is 146g +/- 5%. Here are a couple pics. I really like look of the carbon weave. I left the bar tape a bit short so the carbon weave is exposed.

Agree. Very stiff. Fat tops but comfy. 148g in 42cm for me. Decals come off w acetone if you don't like branding.

Really nice review, great to read about its details. Makes me really tempted to get one just for the larger too surface and 10g savings over my haero bars!

Very nice and extremely tempting...... still waiting on Darimo to confirm the details of their DI2 offerings. Believe it is in final testing
