I would personally have gone for the Hope calipers as Shimano have always had problems with leaky seals. You can also buy spares for the Hopes as well.

Oh.

Well that wasn't the case here tho (AFAIK). Just sintered pads (instead of resin) and a "lazy" piston (is apparently the term).

Altho, if the lazy piston is down to leakage on the other one (speeding it up), then I guess yeah, could've gone with something else.
