Carbon is heavier than plastic, no?

Just bought some J&L pully wheels for Sram and Campagnolo - we will see how long they last. Also ordered some J&L Titanium spindles for Look Keo Blade from the same seller on eBay.

The pulley material can be whatever. Plastic if you don't want noise and like low weight.

Just get ready to put some steel bearings in them. Put a drop of light oil in to have them spin like crazy. Enjoy nice and smooth shifting.

If you are a weenie like me get some light plastic wheels that support smaller ball bearings. Then your quality protected sealed low play steel/hybrid bearings will weigh less than the expensive ceramic bearings your competitors might be shelling out big $$$ for. Get a 10pack of quality bearings and swap them out once a year. Boom. Use loctite 641 to prevent them from moving sideways inside the pulley wheel.

I bought those because they are cheap oversized options that I can try, not really concerned about ceramic bearings longevity or low-friction properties. Quite a bonus that it improved my shifting as well. I don't think much about its longevity (because I only go out when it's nice and dry) but if there are concerns about disintegrating bearings etc one can actually change a pair for every chain given its silly prices.

I got a pair of J&L carbon pulley wheels for my Sram Red 22. They were very wobbly and shifting was super poor.

I modified the bearing housing (aluminium) to take up some of the play but it was still horrible.

I had a few of those on my bikes. Nice when new...but got wobbly very fast. Bearings were loose and ended up getting replacement sealed steel bearings that pressed in much tighter within the plastic. Still have a set on one bike, but ended up going with Kogel 12/14T on my 9150 RD. Stays tight and not wobbly.

I have the Taxc, Kogels and CeramicSpeed and honestly I don’t see any big significant differences...
You couldn't measure any difference either. "Ceramic" pulleys lol. What a waste.

Reccomendations for wheels that meet those criteria?

Tacx 11t ceramic bearings scored very well in the friction facts test.
But difference with steel bb is very small.
I bought them because I hope they do not rust in winter.
A bargain at 24 eur.
I believe tacx has stoped making them after Garmin bought tacx.
They have become hard to find.

Any tiny difference you could measure in the lab between ceramic and steel bearing-ed jockey wheels would disappear the moment you ride in the rain and some crap gets in.
