Hi everyone,
Been reading this board for years, really appreciate all the knowledge-sharing going on! Keep it up!

Question for you Colnago dealers and riders that have worked with the new C64 (still waiting for mine).

On C64 Disc frame, will any component group's front derailleur affect the tyre clearance? I.e. would installing a Campagnolog SR Eps front derailleur hinder me from using the widest tyres on this frame?

Thanks!

The chainstays will be the your limiting factor. This is NOT a fat tire bike. 28mm actual size... that does not mean 28mm Continental 4000sii clinchers mounted in wide rims. 28mm is plenty big for its intended use.

The thing is, on my C60 Disc, I managed to mount a 30mm tyre. On that frameset the only limiting factor was the front fork which did not have enough clearance on top.

Thanks!

Well, I may ultimately stand corrected but I think it will depend on your tire/rim combo. You won’t have any issues heightwise as there’s much more room than the C60, and If the actual inflated width of the tire is really just 30mm then you might get away with it. But running a 30mm clincher on a wider rim will almost certainly end up wider than 30mm I would think. And that’s when it could get a little tight. I took some measuremnts with a 27mm Vlanderen tubular (pretty true to size) and the right side had about 4mm of clearance between the tire and chainstay for reference. Remember thinking I wouldn’t want to be using bigger than a 28mm. But as things go, you know people will try with varying degrees of success.

I'm reviving this old thread where Calnago posted!

Quick questions - what is the reasonable max tire one can install in a C64 disc frame? I'm thinking of replacing my C59 with a C64. I found a C64 in my favorite color in mint, practically new conditon for an ok price.

Would this be 28mm tires that expand to 30-32mm? Would a 30mm GP5000 work? Actual - 32-34mm???

I am riding a 2021 C64 disc with Challenge Strada's in 30 mm width and could probably manage a 32 mm tire but the clearance would be tight which would make me pretty uneasy in the event of a puncture.

Did you get the frame?

Im looking at a 45s. If I can fit a 30 that would be a win.

I am riding a late edition C64 disc with 28mm tyres on Zipp 303 Firecrest (25mm internal). They inflate to 30mm and there is plenty of room.

Great. I also messaged you

Then there's no point of getting the C68 for me if I only want to go 30mm max correct? I got some Zipp 404 with 23mm internal, not sure how that works out for a 28 tire

I found a C64 disc in my size. Im going to lose sleep now
