Rotor Aldhu

13,300 km on my NGeco P2M Edition set of Rotor cranks. Only problem I had was the left crank coming loose twice. Put a bit of loctite on the bolt, and it's been fine since, but I think I'd prefer a pinch-bolt setup like Shimano has. The lockring with the tiny 2mm allen screw is a bit fiddly, too. Aside from those little things, no problems (78-80kg and 335 FTP, just for data point sakes, so I do put a decent load on the stuff).

According to the P2M I was only putting out 360w when it failed! I believe it is a one of failure, since both Rotor and P2M told me they’ve never seen a failure like this before.tleo wrote:I've got about 8000km on my 24mm NGeco/Aldhu road cranks and no issues. Very happy with how responsive they’ve been regarding this, just have to wait for the replacement to arrive and hopefully never see this issue again.
I'm trying to find wich chainrings combo are lighter and what are the weight differences between the following:
1)The 52/36 direct mount combo, or 2) the Rotor spider + both 52 and 36T chainrings + bolts.
Anybody had those combos weighed ?

Did you find out what the actual weight of the Rotor Aldhu 30 alloy crank (165 or 170mm) with 46/30 chainrings is? I am currently in the market for a new crank and wondering why rotor cranks are advertised with a substantially higher weight (~630g) compared to what was weighed in this thread initially (~564g). If the Rotor Aldhu 30 would actually be around 560g it would beat my current FSA SL-K (~ 650g with spacers) by far in terms of weight.
If anyone else has input on this please let me know (even a rough estimate would be helpful; e.g. weight with other chainrings etc).

one piece 50/34 chainring:
some Kapic Carbon (MTB version of Aldhu Carbon. slightly heavier but quite abit cheaper. these are 165mm version and without the crank protector rubber shoes:
4 bolt 110mmBCD spider (this spider has groove that only fit Rotor's own chainring and does not work with shimano chainrings)
For those who is interested in AXS, 48/35 Q rings:
A bit heavier than one-piece chainring:

I will go down this route as they look awesome
Included a picture of a ngeco 4s and 4sl power2max (ng is 7-8gr lighter) and the 48t aero rings. I think if you go with the regular rotor rings and ng you are close to 600-610gr
I have ordered both and will get both rings aero and non aero and will see what looks the nicest for me
But likely it will be ng with aero 52/36t and pw2m 4sl
Power2max was really helpful to quickly assemble something and do the weights and take pictures. Customer service

-4 bolts: 8g
-52Qrings aero: 142g or not aero: 120g
-36Qrings : 35g
-Total: 212g (not aero) or 234g (aero)
Spidering 52/36: 193g
For me the aero version is far above the 2 other options, but it's not sensitive below 300W
Trying to save 30-40g in a major part involved in power transfer is a calculation that must be done for strong or heavy riders.
For my own bike, I chose Aldhu Carbon that has a great stiffness and impressive drop in weight. On chainrings I ride 53/39 Qarbon with Inspider.
However, my FTP is 340-350W and I would have a different mount if my FTP would be 250W.
At lower intensity I think that Rotor not aero chainrings are a good combo.
Eh? How on earth would you figure that? 300 watts for you or 300 watts for everyone?
I think the women's hour record was set with a lower ave power than 300, and aero was pretty damn sensitive for that.

There is a big difference between a linear effort on track and an effort in a peloton. On track you have let's say 300W AVG=310W NP
On road you can have easily 300W AVG = 360W NP.
So, I mean that you need to know how long you spend above 300W. You may have 250W NP and spend a significant time above 300W !
On Rotor chainrings, I just wanted to say that stiffness is already quite good with the not aero version.
You're right when you say that aero is important, even with a low power you can ride at high speeds and in this case, aero chainrings are a part of the solution.
I ride pretty hard roads at moderate speeds and the stiffness of the aero Rotor chainring is much appareciated !
