I run my stem slammed with no spacers above and decided to replace my King top cap with an Absolute Black one.

Unfortunately as I have an Enve expander bung this isn't going to work as the non-threaded part of the AB cap touches the bung before the top of the stem.

Are there any expander bungs that sit a bit lower in the steerer?

You can see my issue somewhat with this diagram:

Have you resolve this issue? From Absolute Black webpage it specifically says the topcap "is compatible with ENVE Compression Plug". I actually have the ENVE compression plug on order due to this reason but you are saying it won't work?

Be really careful when you torque this cap. Mine was damaged right away.

Yeah I gave up on it. It definitely won't work with the Enve one if you run your stem with zero / minimal spacers above the stem.

Tried it with a bootleg extralite expander but that came loose after every ride so I sacked it off and went back to the King topcap.

I was told you need to preload the bearing first with standard compression plug and cap, tighten the stem and then replace the cap with the AB cap.

The middle part of the ENVE compression plug looks to be concaved. Do you know how much depth it has?

That is probably right! But what's the gain then? Top cap and bolt at 8-10 grams that works without any changes needed.
These caps is for torx, but if you go to 5Nm (spec says 5Nm), the torx pattern is toast.

Also, the threaded rod is too short IMO.

The gain is purely aesthetic

Oh man, there are so much nice combos that'll do the trick both for eyes and the mechanical would be a breeze ;-)
