The LBS lost my Daedalus and gave me an Enve. Which is actually better?

Enve ~275€ / 204g
AX ~320€ / 146g

Pretty much depends what you think about weight difference and look. How its even possible to lost seatpost?

I think the deadalus is better built. Handmade in germany! IDK, but i think i would feel ripped off in this deal. How old was that deadalus?

What kind of LBS loses a customer's $300+ component and then replaces it with a different, sub-standard component :noidea: Sometimes this industry really bums me out. Mistakes are made, but the good shops know how to make it right. This LBS does not and I would be dissapointed on multiple levels in your case.

Maybe worth checking the lbs staff bike racks to see if there’s any there with your Daedalus

Yes, unless YOU are totally ok with the swap, then it’s up to them to provide you a new one. I’m with @billspreston, what kind of shop “loses” an expensive component. If they can’t “find” it, then buy the customer a new one.

It was about 6 years old and no longer on the website anymore(I got it free with the frame). I saw a nice one in a 31+, but wouldn't fit.

If they lose it.. Need to be like for like.

Do not settle for anything less.

"Losing" a seatpost (that is probably uncommon in your area) sounds dodgy as hell.

Nest they'll give you a fake ENVE...

Get them to compensate you with a new Daedalus in your measurement, or the value of their equivalent model today (and not as store credit either!).

Then ditch the shop.

if you are ok with... you are ok with it. It's not like the enve post is a POS.. it's not. But they should give you some options.

I made a deal with the head mechanic. He has worked on my three bikes exclusively and even upgraded the seatpost on the first bike after the bike fitter installed the saddle on original incorrectly.

As I've mentioned before, the Daedalus was free with the frame(used)and now I get a new post and a break on the build(normally $300). Push-come-to shove, I can install the Enve on a different frame and get what I really want.
