i been using Exposure TraceR Rear Light since i took up cycling few years back. Tucked below my saddle. Easily accessible for power on/off and charging.( been thru san marco, selle italia, specialized and finally now fizik saddle). My currrent fizik's model is without the integrated light system, the light mount is mounted on the rails.

Rad light, fantastic for early winter starts. My issues has been a) the rail mount fits non of my weenie saddles (tune, Berk or WR) and b) the light and mount is ridiculously heavy.
The cleanest solution I have found is a moon comet rear with the saddle rail mount flipped upside down. The light becomes ticked under the saddle and looks almost perfect. I’ll post a pic when I have time.

Seconding the Rotlicht. It's compact, bright, has an OK runtime and the elastic band is durable. It has an accelerometer for braking. Also replacement batteries are cheap when the time comes.

The Rotlicht is very good, though is expensive and, while bright, not among the very brightest.
I've tested a lot of these and observed thousands more in use.
Exposure Tracer is very good.
There is something to be said also for a large area light - on a VFM basis the old school wide / tall Cateyes are very good in that regard.
The Moon Shield X it top for brightness /$/£/€

If it's to be seen during daylight then I would recommend the exposure traceR. No one can ever say 'sorry I did not see you!'. It fits very neat under your saddle too. Can also be dialled down for night time use. Some one mentioned earlier that it comes with the under saddle mount, but this is not correct, it comes with the seat post mount, under saddle is extra.
