I'm looking at my first frame in several years and unsure about a few things with the newer pressed-in bottom brackets. Do I understand correctly that a PF46 is Hope's version of something that's pressed into a BB30 BB shell? Are these and other BB standards compatible with Campagnolo cranks that have their bearings pressed on the crank axle? If so, then why do I keep seeing information about the included bearings with the BBs?

PF46 is also known as PF30 and fits a 46mm diameter shell. BB30 fits a narrower 42mm shell. The bearings in both have identical outer diameters but press directly into BB30 shells whereas they are carried in cups in PF30 shells.

Campagnolo cranks are compatible with both standards with your options depending on the frame BB shell width. I am running Ultra-Torque cranks using a Praxis adapter in a PF30 frame (also BB30 compatible with sleeve removed) and another set in a BB30 frame using a FSA BSA threaded adapter loctited in.

Some good info on the standards are here https://wheelsmfg.com/bb-standards

and specifically on BB30 vs PF30/46 here https://wheelsmfg.com/bb30-vs-pf30

The Praxis unit for Ultra-Torque is very good https://praxiscycles.com/product/conv-bb-campagnolo/

Thanks. This explains why I couldn't find correct info on PF46 - it's the same as PF30.
