Campagnolo 12-Speed
Moderator: robbosmans
I’ve been thinking that Ewan just doesn’t like a 16t in there. A 27t instead of a 26t and 29t sounds far fetched but who am I to judge? Lots of people put sram on their bikes, right?

Example, Viviani is using black sheos + white socks because.......that's the combo that made him win a TdF stage.

yesterday he averaged 12seconds 1200w and he's only 16xcm, he cant be that heavy !
Some say pour 10ml water out of your bottle to save that last bit of the weight. Sorry, i go one step further, i tend to the rider off my bikes.
n+1...14 last time i checked, but i lost count

He’s a phenomenon all right. His ride over the Poggio this March was maybe the most impressive I’ve seen by any rider, male or female, this season.
I saw this on my Google feed so commented on the other thread about the old close ranges.. (then realised it the article was 4 months old and already covered in 2021 pro equipment thread!).
Reasoning about 27t does seem fishy, I mean if you wanted a close ratio as a sprinter you'd go for 11-23 or whatever. Nevertheless 29t does seem overkill. More choice please, listen up Campagnolo!

So who's rinding without the clip-that-nobody-really-understands? It's a pain to get into place with p2m cranks. So would be happy to just skip it...
And has anybody ever tried adding two wave washers to add spring tension?

I have given up using the clip-that-nobody-really-understands as I trust the UT centre bolt.
One wave washer is sufficient. Campag has done the thinking for us, just go with it.

SR is a little lighter because of some titanium sprockets. It mostly shows on the price tag..
I personally always ride with KMC chains. Think Campy chains still don't come with a quick link?

this is another thing, Campagnolo still does not use pins in 12s chains, and I would like to have the opportunity to remove it for waxing. are chains other than campagnolo worthy of attention? or maybe you have some proven chain links for campagnolo?
For 12s it's all steel, just happens to have slightly different surface treatment on the machined blocks. And the machined blocks have more of the steel removed compared to those of Chorus, the weight difference. Arguably the monetary penalty for going SR is less that way, as the price difference isn't multiplied by increased wear. If your happy point on the budget axis happens to be right between Chorus and SR, you might consider Recon/Edco Monoblock which saves another hundred or so grams over SR by carving out even more. Shifting is noticeably different, but I don't know which one I prefer.
SR chain seems to last forever on my build (seriously, it's unreal!), must be because carbon rim breaking surface provides ample motivation to take the other bike for questionable weather.
Thank you for the answer, I think this is what I was looking for.
I don't want to use parts other than campagnolo. Besides the quick link.
